I’m Chance McClain, and I’m the founder of Heritage Films, where we create personalized documentary films to preserve family legacies. My journey into filmmaking has been anything but typical—I’ve been a soldier, a sports radio host, a Broadway musical writer, and even the guy behind the viral “Yao Ming Song.”
I grew up in Houston, Texas, served in the Army as a light-infantry medic, and eventually found my passion in storytelling. After years in sports radio and some creative detours into musicals and internet films, I discovered my true calling when a friend asked me to capture his dad’s story on film. That experience opened my eyes to how meaningful it is to preserve someone’s life story, and Heritage Films was born.
Now, I’m lucky enough to do what I love alongside my wife, Kearstin, and my kids. We’ve crafted over 800 documentary films for families across America. I believe everyone has a story worth telling, and my goal is to make sure those stories live on for future generations.
On this podcast, I’m excited to share how we blend art, family, and history to create something truly timeless.
